Full Day Programs

These programs are designed to provide children with full day care while also providing them with a preschool experience, extended care and programming in a play-based environment where they are cherished, cared for, and guided by a highly qualified, professional staff for a full day (equal to or greater than 5 hours of care). They include:

2 Year Old Program

Often the entry point into early childhood education, our class of 2-year olds is one especially designed to help children make a smooth transition to a new place where trust and confidence are built as the first layers of a positive learning experience. Rich in playful exploration, our children are cared for by three qualified teachers who will guard and guide them toward building a healthy sense of self as learners and group members. After lunch, children bring blankets and lovies for a restful two hour afternoon naptime. The day continues with gross motor time and classroom play until all are picked up. This room has a maximum enrollment of 16, with a mixture of partial day and full day attendees. Full time children must enroll for at least 5 hrs/day. Healthy breakfasts, lunches and snacks included. Children must be 2 on or before September 1st to be eligible. Potty training is not a requirement.

3-5 Year Old Multi-age Program

This play-based classroom provides high quality early childhood education and care for children ages 3 to 5 and is designed to meet the needs of families of full time working parents. The multi-age setting provides an opportunity for older children to develop leadership skills and refine their thinking as they interact with their younger classmates. The younger children have the opportunity to be in a setting where a wider range of abilities is modeled thus encouraging them to “stretch” their abilities. As the classroom has a Preschool for All (PFA) component, this program specifically addresses the needs of children who qualify as academically “at risk” while also meeting the needs of the greater population. Children enjoy a daily afternoon rest time/nap-time, length of time varying based on each child’s sleep patterns. The day continues with gross motor time, classroom play, and intermittent special activities until children are picked up. Maximum enrollment is 20 and it is taught by 3 teachers, at least one of whom is State Board of Education certified and one of whom is bilingual. Full time enrollment required. Hours are 7:30am-5:30pm, with 9:00am-11:45am as mandatory PFA time. Children must be 3 by September 1st to qualify and undergo a prescreening assessment process. Healthy breakfasts, lunches, and snacks are included.
