Kindergarten Enrichment

Afternoon Kindergarten Enrichment

At Community, we offer an afternoon class for this age group. The class is a mixed-age program of 4 and 5-year-olds. The classes are designed to provide an enriching kindergarten experience and nurturing care for the half day that children are not in public school. The multi-age setting provides an opportunity for kindergartners to engage in activities that complement the public school curriculum. This setting fosters the development of leadership skills and acts as a catalyst for extended thinking and learning as kindergartners interact with each other and their younger classmates. This class is taught by two teachers with a maximum of 20 children. Bus service is available to and from most schools through District 112’s transportation department. Children may enroll from 2 to 5 days.

Afternoon Kindergarten Enrichment—children are delivered to the center by district buses starting at 11:30 a.m.; lunch and afternoon snack provided; children may stay until 5:30 p.m.
